Dear Members,
You would have seen the email sent by Professor Francis Corner on Tuesday 28 January. UNISON and UCU are in agreement that there are still a number of questions that have not been answered in relation to Goldsmith’s current financial position.
Before the end of last year, all staff were told that the deficit was 6 million; a month later the figure quoted in the wardens’ message was a 2 million increase. Many of our UNISON members are requesting more information and clarity as to how the University has found itself in this position.
A voluntary severance scheme will be launched tomorrow, UNISON would like to listen to all our members’ concerns and questions going forward. You can submit your comments on this page here; https://unisongoldsmiths.org.uk/feedback/
The UNISON Branch together with Goldsmiths UCU have agreed on a motion demanding a meaningful collaborative negotiation process that will not exclude, but engage all staff across the Goldsmiths community.
We will be contacting our members shortly with a meeting date.
