As part of National Refugee Week 2018, UNISON Goldsmiths is proud to be holding two drop-off points for food bank donations.
These donations will go to the local refugee group AFRIL (Actions for Refugees in Lewisham).

The planned drop-offs are:

22nd June
Caroline Graveson Building Reception: 11am – 4pm
Library Foyer: 12pm – 2pm

The most sought-after and useful items are listed below, however, all donations however big or small are welcome.

Rice Fish Soy milk (long life) Eggs Washing up liquid
Cereal Rice pudding Evaporated Milk Oils

AFRIL works on a variety of projects for those who are refugees and asylum seekers in the Lewisham borough. Projects include:

  • Support for destitute families including the food bank
  • Teaching basic skills such as cooking and sewing to adults
  • ESOL lessons for adults
  • Supplementary education to children between 4 and 11 in areas such as maths and English
  • Advice and advocacy including housing, welfare and legal advice Integration with the local community
