Dear members,
The last few months have been challenging in many ways, UNISON has continued to fight for the rights of our members from different sectors not least the NHS and Care home staff from across England and Wales.
We as a Branch continue to have the Health and Safety needs of our union members bought to the forefront of Goldsmiths Management as a priority during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the news of a vaccine has bought a glimmer of hope to the most vulnerable individuals within our society and our frontline workers, it will be many months before the scientific data will show what effect this has on the spread of the virus.
A special mention of gratitude goes out to our Goldsmiths Security and Cleaning staff who have been on campus since March of this year – thank you all!
Looking into the new year (and despite the many restrictions that the pandemic has currently imposed on both local and national areas, due to lockdowns and the Tier system) our union will continue to place our members at the centre of fighting for fair pay, safer working conditions and equality.
The Branch would like to wish you all a safe and restful holiday break and a hopeful New Year.
Goldsmiths UNISON Branch
